The ‘ol About

Writing an About Me section always feels more difficult than it should be. Because, where do you even start? How did we even get here?

I’ve always loved creating things. Ever since I was a kid I knew I wanted to make videos. I was recently reminded that I used to do my video Jr. High School announcements in the morning. I thought it was the coolest thing. I had what they called “the acting bug”. (I also haven’t heard that term in forever! Nostalgia, is that you?!) I would be involved in theatre, dance, acting classes, and the acting community, signing with agencies, and doing the whole bit because my soul craved a creative life.

But I didn’t want to be a starving artist! So what do you do then? You go to college for a somewhat practical degree. I chose Advertising and Visual Communication (Graphic design).

But life would throw curveball after curveball. I would do practical jobs like property management, retail, and tech with “non-practical” ones like TV and film production gigs. Over 10 years I would enjoy working behind the scenes on shows airing on MTV, CBS, NBC, OWN, ESPN, Nat Geo, and more. My love of video took me to London, England to refine my self-taught video editing skills to be professionally trained.

During that same time I started a product-based business called Coco and Seed in 2013 in the Home and Garden niche doing #allthethings. My profitable hobby/small business was featured on the TODAY show twice (2020 and 2023), in Garden Gate Magazine, Architectural Digest, and Oprah Magazine's Favorite Things in 2020, with mentions in NPR, Cosmopolitan, and more.

So this space on the internet is a combination of all the things I love. I want to share what I’ve learned in business and what I continue to learn through blogging and creating videos. It also holds me accountable to create the life I desire. Need an accountabilybuddy?
